Happy Friday!

It's Friday and I am two steps away from River Dancing out of this office! LOL You ever have one of those weeks when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel -- all you have to do is hold on to see GLORIOUS Friday? LOL I have had one of those weeks!

Hopefully I will get to knock out Vogue 4235. In fact Mimi over at Domestic Haven has to great reviews of the dress..

So my question for you all -- How many times to do you sew a pattern? Also, do you sew one pattern twice uninterrupted. (In other words, do you cut out that pattern twice in one sitting?)

I leave you with two of my favorite spring dresses of the day... from the streets to the red carpet.

Mimi made me want to sew that one up too. I think I already have the pattern! LOL

As far as sewing the same pattern, I am LOVING Simplicity 4036 for a basic A line skirt. This will be the second time I've made it. I also love Simplicity 4076 for a basic Tshirt!

Have a great weekend!!!

If the pattern is very distinctive, I only sew it once; but generally,I tend to sew a pattern at least twice. I've made Simplicity 4020three times (It's a great pattern BTW!), and New Look 6557 four times (for four different views). I like to get my money's worth out of a pattern.

Oh, and I should add, I have cut out a pattern twice in one sitting. I did that with my McCall's blouses and a skirt I'm currently making. I figure it's easier to knock it out all in one sitting instead of one at a time. Especially if you are confident about how the garment will fit.

I have never made a pattern twice.I am trying hard not to buy any patterns for while,so I might be repeating several patterns this summer.
Can't wait to see vogue 4235 when you are done!!:)

I hardly ever sew a pattern twice. I'm always ready to get to the next one.

I've never cut a pattern two at a time. I sometimes decide halfway through construction that I'll make another one next and make alterations while they are still fresh in my mind. I have a few patterns I return to, like a simple shirt or skirt but then sometimes they get superseded. For example, I had a long sleeve blouse pattern and a fitted short sleeve blouse pattern that I've used dozens of times with no need to change. Then I found a fitted blouse in Burda World of Fashion 9/2007 that has a range of sleeve and collar options and I've made three in the past two weeks. It's become my new standard pattern.
